Steven Jens Has No Life
This is just a collection of some of my thoughts as they come to me -- sometimes even sooner.

This afternoon, I commented to a classmate that "the word 'blizzard' is being thrown around awfully haphazardly". Well, conditions are more serious than they were when I went in. The winds aren't as bad as they should be for a blizzzard -- I still wouldn't call this a class III kill storm -- but the word isn't entirely inappropriate.

Incidentally, I haven't shaved in a few days (except the mustache area and the area near my neck). This is in addition to a goatee I've been growing. I'm generally anti-facial-hair, but I'm in favor of keeping my face warm, and I think it helped in the cold wind this morning.

When I looked out of my window this morning, I thought, "that isn't twelve to eighteen inches, like we were promised." Either there was a lull in the precipitation, or I really need to clean my windows -- at any rate, it wasn't finished.

I half-assedly cleared the sidewalk in front of the house, and made a path from our front door to the sidewalk and one from Genevieve's door to her car (she's our 81-year-old neighbor). I didn't put too much effort into it, though, since it'll all have to be done again.

I was surprised at how empty the streets were this morning. I suppose I shouldn't have been. I took the number 1 bus to the corner of Mass. Ave. and Beacon Street, which is as close as it comes to BU. It's also right near a Subway sandwich shop, so I got a sub and walked the rest of the way. I've taken a bit of extra space in the grad-student lounge to let things dry out -- there are a few groups of people in here, but it's by no means crowded.

That's my morning. My afternoon should consist mostly of studying, since I have a couple of tests next week.

We got snow!

I hope most of it stayed out of my car, which still doesn't have a window. I covered most of the window area with a couple of paper bags, but didn't bother to completely seal it up.
